Numbers...

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. De Stempelwinkel - numbers
There is a smal number in the stamp (Non/sequiter) I used, but to add some more numbers, I used a rub-on.

Je bent geslaagd !

 Zwarte bister is zo verrassend!
Gebruik dan ook nog eens chloor om de bloemen 'wit' te maken, en je komt voor nóg een verrassing te staan.

Mooi, of niet, de klaproos?!
Het is een van de nieuwste stempels van Inkerbell, ook de tekst!!

12 tags of 2015 - May

Just in time for the May tag from Tim Holtz!
I didn't think I would enjoy this month's tag, but actually I did,
This really isn't a copy of Tim's tag, but I like the softness of the colors here, and chose to not add more text, and embellishments.

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
2. Mixed media world - vintage

I used one of the new TCW stencils to add the structure paste: a nice textural and very versatile stencil.

Apple blossoms are promisng ..

The stamp of the apple blossom must be one of my favorites from the new release at Magenta.
De appelbloesem stempel is een van mijn nieuwe favoriete stempels van Magenta!

The drops stamp makes a suitable background, as it's spring here in Holland:
a lot of spring showers fall from the sky...
.. and blossom flowers from the trees! They promise fruit..
The sentiment from Inkerbell says 'it's time for a party'!

De stempel met druppels vormt wel een toepasselijke achtergrond, omdat het lente is hier in Nederland:
heelwat regendruppels vallen uit de lucht en ....bloesem uit de bomen! Ze beloven fruit...

The Original Documented Life Project - week 15

Playtime for me again!
I am doing the Original Documented life project, the April theme being :
Color Safari (Exploring Inks and Paints)
 Art challenge : Acrylics
The Journal Prompt:    Cry me a River

So this is another art journal page of 18 x 25 centimeters!
I messed around with acrylic color, stencils, stamps and jute...
..and tissue wrap, and acrylic markers..
I used stencils from TCW, but they're not too visibly used here...

Hope you like it!

I am entering this in the challenge at
1. Simon Says stamp - X, Y or Z - I chose Y for yellow
2. The Artistic Stamper - art journal

A new favorite stamp - the wren!

Of course this wren stamp is my favorite from the new catalog of Magenta!
( It's my own design... )

I started by choosing a piece of scrapbookpaper from Magenta. It has this soft grey background.
I decided to stamp the wren in light grey, and heat embossed with clear embossing to make it more defined.
The background already had some rusty accnts so I chose rusty hinge distress ink to sponge with.
I made some of the images pop more with a white acrylic marker!

The Original Documented Life Project - week 14

Playtime for me again!
I am doing the Original Documented life project, the April theme being :
Color Safari (Exploring Inks and Paints)
 Art challenge Watercolors
The Journal Prompt:    It's Water Under the Bridge
****
Another art journal page of approx. 18x25 cm!
I chose to keep it simple this time.
I let the watercolors and paper do it's work.  (o, yes, and the household wrap!)

I added a script in the background as the 'journaling'.
I did not use the Journal prompt on this page. Sorry, no bridge, LOL.

The flowers were drawn very lightly with pencil before filling in the background. I only had to draw them with an acrylic pen then. Easy Peasy!
I used 250 grams watercolorpaper.

I am entering this in the challenge on:
1.  The Artistic Stamper - art journal
2. Stampotique designers challenge - Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue - (the watercolors are old, the text  stamp is new, and it's blue all over, and ...  o yes, I borrowed some foil from the kitchen)

The Original Documented Life Project - week 13

I am doing the Original Documented life project, the March theme was:
Making Your Mark (Doodles & Mark Making)
Art challenge Make a Custom Element
The Journal Prompt:    "Ride the energy of your own unique spirit." - Gabrielle Roth

Another art journal page of approx. 18x25 cm!
The wren is (one of) my new stamp designs at Magenta. So that is what is the custom element on this page .. hope that counts. I used the word OWN from the journal prompt. The script in the background is also my own (design).
The stencil in the background of the clocks and script is from TCW!

5th layer - add purple distress stickles over the seed heads and bodies of the butterflies.
6th layer - sponge the purple colors (distress inks) onto the background.

The script was stamped onto blotting paper and adhered in strips with decoupage glue.
The butterfly was stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock and cut out, and of course adhered to the card.

The butterfly image is from Stamp Camp
